Hey guys! Mimi here… it’s been a while and we’re getting close to Thanksgiving! A lot to be thankful for! Tefty Teft and I are at Wholefoods on our laptops doing some work! I’m enjoying a holiday blend tea from Peet’s coffee… YUM!

So, Teft and I are trying to put out a video blog every week…(we’re trying! :)We’re also thinking about doing acoustic versions of our songs for our video blogs… a totally different take.. It could be on the guitar (or piano) with a totally different tempo. Like instead of 4/4 we would try doing it at 6/8. It’s really fun to do! The style of an electronic piece can sound more indie- singer songwriter. We’ll be doing it here real soon so check back!

Loomis CA, Impromtu Photoshoot, And The Police!

So, Teft, myself, and a good friend (Jesse Janzen) decided to do a last minute photo shoot. We’re all about getting lots of photo content! Off we went to Loomis, Ca. It’s a lil’ old town outside of the Sacramento area that has cool places to do some shots. I’m still getting use to cars stopping and staring and people watching while I pose for the camera.

We took about 150 shots in front of small buildings and along the street. We stopped in front of this cool restaurant that had a wall painting. It was a woman popping out champagne and a man serving her, with a baby angel off to the top corner. Jesse decided that it would be cool to have me go on Teft’s shoulder’s and pretend I’m lifting the baby angel. (more…)

First Mimi Blog! & L Word Fan Videos!

Hey guys! Mimi here… I decided to write more regularly about Mimi and Teft music. I’m drinking my favorite Yogi green tea and listening to Above and Beyond’s album Tristate. Gotta love em!

So, I went on You Tube last week and searched for Mimi and Teft and checked out how we were doing… I noticed we have a couple fan videos and so I clicked on one… and a girl from Hungary had put together a collage of lesbian scenes with our song “Fairy Tale” I totally blushed and was taken back! Because our song was placed on Showtime’s The L Word…we have accumulated a new community of fans!

All nighters in the studio .. We’ve been on a new music kick for the entire summer. On some weeks, Mimi’s written 5 new songs. Not fully produced .. but still!! So much music it’s crazy!

Tonight, we laid down the basic structure into Logic for two songs that are moving beyond ‘pre-production’. Always exciting to see what might come out each new song. As a producer, it can be a challenge to juggle anywhere from 5 to 10 songs at any given time … But that’s why I love my work!!

New tune this Thursday! The title is ‘See You Again’ and it’s a different track from what we usually release. Peace! Teft
